Felicity Sandford, who set up the popular community Facebook group Hanwell Friends (currently +18,000 members) and formerly owned the London branch of Buttons Nanny Agency before selling the franchise to Marion Doheny of Pitshanger Playcentre in May 2017, set up Amazing Futures Ltd in September 2017, fully launching the business in January 2018. Amazing Futures is an outsourced marketing support service for children’s products and services, the first of its kind for the children’s leisure and educational sector in the UK. Felicity is a freelance marketing manager, providing support in all areas of marketing to the child and family focused business sector. From social media management and website management to managing marketing projects and events and other areas of marketing support and consultancy, Amazing Futures is there to help children’s activity providers and other family/ child orientated brands.

In October 2017 she teamed up with another successful Ealing business woman, Amanda Frolich of Amanda’s Action Club. Together they founded LEAP Networking, an online and offline networking community for children’s leisure and educational activity providers.

Felicity, who is mother two an eight-year-old daughter and a six year old son, set up the agency after realizing that many small businesses in the children’s activity sector lack the time or knowledge to market their business effectively and were spending a lot of money using the wrong marketing channels for them. She has built a community around the business with LEAP Networking and celebrated children’s entertainer, Amanda Frolich.

Felicity has been shortlisted for the Community category in the U.K. wide business awards. MPower Awards Finalists

As well as being a finalist for this category, Felicity is also in with a chance of winning the title of Mpower Woman of The Year 2018, which will be awarded to a business mum who is an inspiration to all women in business in the U.K.

Having reached the finals of The Mpower National Business Awards, Felicity said “It is a huge honour to have my start-up business recognised by being nominated for a national business award in the first year of operating. I am passionate about working in this industry and helping small businesses in the often overlooked child and family sector to grow their businesses and it is both humbling and wonderful to have been recognised for my early achievements.”

“There are a lot of awards out there, and we are proud about what makes these awards, and the women who enter, different!” said Nicola Huelin, multi-award winning business coach, Founder of the Mpower awards, and mum to four children with her partner Graham. “Often invisible to most, mums in business are changing the business landscape, while raising and inspiring the generations of the future. We believe their efforts and successes in overcoming the unique challenges of combining business and motherhood, particularly in those first few years when it’s the hardest, need to be recognised and celebrated.”

Judging Felicity’s entry will be a panel of top parent entrepreneurs but she’ll have to wait until 23rd June, when the winners will be announced at The Mpower Gala, being held at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in London.

The Mpower Gala has been called The Networking Party of The Year and is open to all entrepreneurs and business owners for an evening of networking, inspiration and celebration. Tickets can be purchased through the Mpower website, where you’ll find a range of resources and information for mums in business
